She is so determined to ease the burden her mother has placed on her grandparents, she makes little time for friends or boys. Allison's carefully structured life is jolted, when her estranged father comes to her insisting he can help her mother. After receiving some fascinating family history, Allison is suddenly thrown into a mysterious world she never even knew existed. Now, not only is Allison's life in danger, so are those she loves most. The only way to save those in peril is to unite with the man she trusts the least..........her father.

My thoughts:
Laura Howard hits her mark with her first enchanting novel. I think what I enjoyed the most about this story was the major twist Laura throws in around the middle of the story. Laura weaves this shocking coil of surprise into Allison O' Malley's story so seamlessly, I literally gasped out loud & yelled, "No way!" Hold on readers because ya'll are in for a fast paced ride full of exotic characters, beauty, jealousy, pride & deceit. The only thing I was unhappy about?? The huge cliffhanger at the end!!! Laura!!! How could you do this to me??? I'm assuming this means you're currently writing book two, right.......RIGHT??? *glares at Laura* Five cowgirl hats, I cant wait for book 2!!!!

Laura Howard lives in New Hampshire with her husband and four children. Her obsession with books began at the age of 6 when she got her first library card. Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child.
