My Review:
I can't even begin to tell y'all how excited I was to get my hands on "Stone of Destiny" and let me tell you, it was worth the wait!! There was SO much going on in this book I just couldn't put it down!! Oh and the characters!!! There were so many to love and hate and love/hate!! What?? Love/hate? Yep love/hate! All of them had such passion, devotion, self assurance and determination you'll be sucked into their lives and held onto until the very end!
My girl Laura does a fantastic job of not only picking up book two where "The Forgotten Ones" left off, she was thoughtful enough to backtrack a bit with each character so you remember their own personal life story and background. I never once felt overwhelmed or bored while reading.
My girl Laura does a fantastic job of not only picking up book two where "The Forgotten Ones" left off, she was thoughtful enough to backtrack a bit with each character so you remember their own personal life story and background. I never once felt overwhelmed or bored while reading.
Now let's discuss these outstanding characters.... There's Allison, in "The Forgotten Ones" she met her long lost father Liam. Unfortunately this event came with more danger than the two of them could've imagined. Aoife is a self centered, spoiled fey princess who pretty much owns Liam. She has escaped the prison of her fey globe and is ready seek revenge on anyone she feels deserves it. Aoife is staying well hidden with the help of her guards. As a result Liam, Allison and their friends sit and wait nervously for Aoife to make her first move.
Aoife's sweet sister, Niamh is able to read minds and spends a lot of her time trying to help Allison use the little fey talent she has to see beyond glamour in an attempt to keep her safe from Aoife. Aoife and Niamh's father the fey king Deaghlan has joined the adventure in "Stone of Destiny. He's the one I said I loved/hated! See, he became bored in the Earth realm and decided to play a few um..."games" with not only Allison but also someone very close to her. Deaghlan is sexy as hell, intriguing, cocky, funny self-centered and did I mention gorgeous?? I hated a lot of the things he chose to do and how he kept supporting Aoife's decisions BUT, I just couldn't help but forgive him maybe it's the whole bad guy syndrome?
Ethan is back but isn't his normal sweet self, he's gone through a change....and I must say, I was highly annoyed until I found out what was actually going on with him and then I felt bad for being so angry with him (sorry Laura!!) Along with trying to find Aoife, get closer to her father Liam, schoolwork and figure out Ethan, Allison finds herself pulled very thin while all of these issues weigh heavily on her.
Just when I felt like I had an problem solved, Laura would twist the plot in a different direction by adding a new issue that you never knew could existed and the characters would shift perfectly to adjust. I felt like Allison really grew and changed in this story. She had so much to deal with and never once complained or broke down. Instead she stayed strong and learned about herself and her heritage. I loved the relationship between her and Liam, it was beautiful to watch the two of them grow closer and learn to rely on each other.
"Stone of Destiny" is a fast paced nonstop exciting joyride that you just won't want to get off of!! I was caught between not wanting to put the book down and not wanting it to end. I was sucked in from the very beginning until the last word. This is a MUST read story!!

About Laura:
Laura Howard lives in New Hampshire with her husband and four children. Her obsession with books began at the age of 6 when she got her first library card. Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child. It wasn’t until the release of a little novel called Twilight, 8 years later, that she rediscovered her love of fiction. Soon after, her own characters began to make themselves known.
