Two men are vying for a place in Lydia Strong’s life. Desmond has solid ties from her distant past, while Aiden is only concerned about being her future. But right now, party-girl Lydia has lost herself in a shot glass and dozens of one night stands. She’s forgotten her own worth and she’s plummeting toward the rock bottom of her life.
While Des and Aiden compete to create her future, Lydia realizes she’s got to be stronger than she’s ever been, to fight her addictions and choose the life she wants now. She must find herself again, before the wrong man walks away.

My Review:

WOW!!! This book is heavy, I don't mean that in a bad way at all!! Just the emotional heartache Lydia had to go through during the book literally took my breath away. One of the many things I love about all of Misty's books, are the powerful, headstrong no nonsense female characters!! What an excellent example they are for young readers out there.  So anyway, my point is Lydia blows all her other characters out of the water ( sorry Nalena, Madeline & Hale!!) Her life has was devastatingly tragic and I just loved her from the start!!

NO Lydia doesn't sit around going "Oh my life is so terrible boohoo!!" ( THAT wouldn't by Misty!) Instead she pulls herself up and fights the battle of her life, her addiction. I was right there with Lydia during all her struggles.  I cried, sighed and laughed along with her. This character is so amazingly well written that I promise you'll become a kindred spirit with her just as I did.  Even if like me, your life was nothing like hers!

Ok let's move onto the guys in this book! You may think love triangle yuck!! Um sorry ladies no sparkly  vampires or wolf boys in this story!! Both  Des and Aiden  are madly in love with Lydia and work their hardest to make sure she knows they plan to win her heart at any cost.

Lydia however, has no interest or time for these games because she knows she has much more important matters to attended and has to heal before she can begin to think of romance. Yet another reason to love her!!! She understand and values the fact that her body and mind need to be at 100% in order to get the most out of life.

This book is about self discovery, self esteem and self empowerment! A not to be missed life lesson that will stay with you for years to come.

OTHER WORKS

 Cornerstone Series

CORNERSTONE is the story of Nalena Maxwell, a girl who's been dubbed The Waste at her new school, due to her mom's obsessive paper hoarding. Nalena desperately needs something to change in her life. But when she receives a sign (and it's the wrong dang one) that invites her into an ancient community, EVERYTHING changes- what she knew of her family and her life and her future. While seventeen years worth of family skeletons come crashing into Nalena's life, it is the boy...the one with eyes as clean as Jesus...that steps up to help Nalena figure out what he already knows about her...

Book Two in the Cornerstone Series. There’s a man-made storm coming, like a rip in the world, and it’s called the Cusp. Struggling to fit into the destiny she’s accepted, Nalena Maxwell has been left with one objective: she must find her murdered grandfather’s Memory. Stolen and hidden away by her own father over seventeen years ago, the Memory could be the key to ending the Cusp and destroying the Ianua’s rival community, The Fury. Driven by each individual’s selfish desires, The Fury has always lacked the loyalty and organization it needs to be an actual force of power. Until now. Someone masterminded the Fury’s massive attack on the Ianua, slaughtering twelve of their thirteen community leaders, the Addos. Now there are rumors that the 13th Cura, to which Nali belongs, has gone to the Fury, manipulating the last Addo in order to control the other 12 Curas. As the Cusp brings the Fury and their own communities against them, Nalena’s Cura must preserve the Ianua, but finding the key to the Cusp isn’t as simple as it seems.

A second ago, Nalena opened her eyes. And she was safe in Garrett’s arms. Then it all comes rushing back—the riots, The Fury, the Cusp. The Ianua community is in a major jam. Forced into survival mode, the Ianua are holed up in the fortress of the Hotel Celare. Each Cura’s top-ranking members have gathered to guard the last remaining Addo, as the entire community also scrambles to trust one another and organize a new game plan to overthrow The Fury. The trick is to keep the human race alive. But The Fury’s game has changed. They have a Mastermind at the helm and he is out to destroy the Ianua. Terrifying and brilliant, this mysterious Mastermind has organized and focused The Fury like never before. He has recruited the Simple and unleashed the Cusp’s wide-spread chaos all around the world. And behind the scenes of this big picture, Nalena and everyone around her are busy trying to keep up, while also absorbing the rapid-fire aftershocks of their changing lives. There are traitors everywhere. While The Cusp is expected to bring twists and turns, Nalena and Garrett never expected it to throw a silverware-drawer full of forks into the road. Each path tests their loyalty and their faith and makes them question who is who. Including themselves. And each other. And in the end, some things, you can never see coming.

It's supposed to stink. That's what Cusps do.
The Ianua, Nalena and Garrett's own community, have welcomed them back by charging them as traitors and chucking them into the Hotel Celare's slammer.
And outside the fortress walls, it's no better.
The Cusp is at full-boil as the world finally surrenders to The Fury's lifestyle. Looting, riots, murders—every kind of crime has become the norm—and The Fury want to make it all permanent.  They might even succeed, now that they've nabbed all thirteen of the Ianua's Cornerstones.
To preserve mankind, the only chance the Ianua have left is to beat The Fury to the Earth's Core and somehow trigger the Reset.
Like that's easy.
There's no manual on how to activate a Reset. Nobody even knows if there’s an actual Core to the Earth.
Shoot, it could be one big myth; an epic waste of effort.
But the Addo thinks there is one last hope.
Maybe.
So long as someone is willing to sacrifice everything to be mankind's long shot.

Running about 7 bananas strong on shots from Hale and Oscar Maree’s wedding bar, what happened between Landon Grace and Sher Traifere was supposed to be a one time thing. A quickie on a romantic night. Sher wanted a fast evening of fireworks to remember on the dull horizon of her life; Landon wanted to get his mind off his psycho ex by feeling Sher’s curves. By the end of the evening, a secret of Sher’s complicates Landon’s attempt to escape the girl’s chainsaw giggle. Some one-night-stands just can’t be finished in one night. Even more complicating, this one rises back up with a hard shot of morning sickness and an entire repertoire of questions. The most important being: how much pull does a guy really have in a woman’s choice to pursue or terminate a pregnancy? And in this case, how clever can he be about stealing her pants?

The Earth’s atmosphere is swiss cheese. To avoid the oncoming oxygen crisis, black-sheep heiress, Maeve Aypotu, has been chemically suspended in one of the Archive’s plush, multi-million dollar chambers, located underground. Scientists claim they can patch everything up in about 15 years, so, just to be safe, the Archive programmed the chambers to open in 17 years.

And then, everything on Earth went wrong.

Up on the surface, Pluto has taken control of the planet, scorching away all signs of human civilization and reconstructing the environment to suit the Plutian’s lucrative dragon trade. Humans that survived are forced to be laborers, divided into five Houses, each handling a different stage of the dragon harvest. Survival and repopulation have become a currency among the Houses. To make matters worse, Rha Diem, the rugged leader of the Fly House, has gotten word that the cost of existence just rose to a price that no human should have to pay. And now there is a whole Archive of survivors that will be expected to pay too.

Learning to trust one another may need to start small—with the fusion of one powerful Rha and one bad ass black sheep—before a damaged race can even hope to regain control of their alien Earth.
