My Review:

Whoa y'all did my girl Rachel come out with guns blazing for her last episode!!! This was an exciting and emotionally heart wrenching book!!!! I went from screaming and gripping my iPad to crying with overwhelming  joy. But I didn't throw my iPad this time, that's bonus points for Rachel right there!!

Ok so let's get into the goodness shall we??  Reagan, Hendrix and Vaughn along with Gabe's help are ready to face Matthias and his men.  Unwilling to back down, Matthias threatens to kill everyone in the compound unless Reagan returns to his town. Pleading with Kane to remember his promises to her in the bunker about keeping her family safe, Reagan begs him to stop Matthias. Kane icily refuses and threatens to shoot an important person to our group, then Reagan's world goes dark literally.....

When Reagan regains consciousness, she's in a car with Kane and Tyler is tied up next to her.  How did she get there? How will she escape a fast moving car full of men willing to kill just to get her back to Matthias' compound?  Can Reagan end Kane's reign of evil forever?  You'll have to read Episode 12 to find out!!!!!

My Thoughts:

I want to warn y'all you WILL cry!! An important member or our group gets wounded and you're not sure how he/she is because Rachel takes us with Reagan, way to keep my blood pressure up girl *dirty look at Rachel* The action kicks into high gear with the nail biting scenes  in the car between  Reagan, Tyler and Kane!! Just when you think it's safe to breath again, BAMB!!!! Huge drama!!

No worries though, Rachel makes everything worth it at the end and doesn't leave you hanging too badly at the end!!!! Episode 12 is NOT to be missed, are any of them??

After a night in the bunker with Kane Allen, Reagan is panicky with fear and doubt. The Zombies haven’t let up their attack on the bunker door and the darkness of the small space is oppressing. But none of that compares to the overwhelming presence of Kane.

By the time Hendrix shows up to rescue her, Reagan fears the damage is already done- Kane and her have bonded before she could pull herself together and protect her heart. Now she wonders if maybe he’s not such a bad guy. Or maybe he has been manipulating her by using her fears and insecurities to get her to open up.

While the Parkers decide how to best solve the Allen problem, Matthias has already arrived and demanded his prisoners go back with him- the Parker brothers and Reagan that escaped his Colony and found amnesty with Gage. Gage takes their side, refusing to let Matthias have his way. But what does that mean for the storage complex?

Meanwhile, Reagan and Hendrix find some much needed alone time and try to work beyond the damage that Kane has inflicted.

But before they’re out of danger, Reagan is going to have to compromise parts of herself she didn’t know were up for debate.

Can Reagan get back to Hendrix alive? Or worse, without Kane marking part of her heart?

But Kane is there, and he’s badly injured.

Reagan falls into the role of caretaker in order to protect everyone else from Kane and his disturbing ways. She will do anything to protect those she loves, even if that includes fighting a battle of wits and words against the mysterious force that is Kane Allen. But even Reagan doesn’t understand what she’s up against yet.

Kane isn’t the only danger on the road though. When the van screeches to a halt in front of an army of Zombies, the group will have to get creative in order to fight their way free. Tyler Allen was a victim of the Zombie Apocalypse just like everybody else. But unlike most people, Zombies were just the start of her personal hell. As Feeders ran wild in every other part of the country, she lived a relatively Zombie-free life, but one in which the infection threat was traded for the loss of her freedom and the man she loved.

Tyler’s dad is Matthias Allen, leader of The Colony. And a man Tyler would do anything to escape. When she hitched a ride with the Parkers, she knew it would be temporary. Like her dad, she knew how to use a means to get to a better end. She would learn to survive from them, learn to fight, but in the end she would take her brother and leave. They weren’t part of her bigger picture.

As the group takes their time in Tulsa, stocking up on supplies and resting for a bit, Tyler reluctantly begins to feel attached to Page and her brothers as well as Reagan and Haley. If it weren’t for her dislike of Vaughan, her life would be as close to perfect as it had been in a long time.

Still she’s wary to trust people and anxious to be on the run again.

When Feeders wander too close to home, Tyler learns just how much she’s grown to care for this brave group of people and how much hope and belonging a few trustworthy souls can make her feel.

Until an unwanted visitor shows up, desperate for help and needing refuge. The group agrees to help him, because what else can they do? But Tyler has to wonder if she can ever really escape the nightmare of her past.

Determined to save the boys she has come to care so deeply about, Reagan teams up with Vaughan to set out and rescue Hendrix and Nelson from whatever trouble they’ve gotten themselves into.

However, before they can liberate anybody, they themselves are captured.

Introduced to another scary settlement, Reagan is split up from the Parker brothers and put in the custody of a boy not much older than her. Kane Allen is possessive and fierce in his attempt to own and possess Reagan. She learns a fear that even in her dangerous, Zombie-filled life, she has not known before.

Zombies- as if that wasn’t enough to ruin any girl’s dream of a happily ever after.

On the heels of escaping Gary and his camp of militia, Reagan, Haley and the Parker brothers are traveling south without a car and not much in the way of weapons. Conditions are bleak, but they have each other and they have hope.

When an unexpected thunderstorm hits and they are exposed on the open road, the group must fine shelter in an abandoned barn. The structure is crumbling and dirty but they are able to escape the worst of the storm. Hoping to make it through the blustery night, they make camp and hope for the best.

However, when a horde of Zombies follows them, they realize how precarious their temporary lodging is and how unlikely it is they will survive the night.

Now they must find a way to fight off the aggressive Feeders while still keeping everyone alive. They are low on ammo, fighting blind in the dark and struggling against the elements.

Reagan has come to care for this group too much to lose someone now. But staying alive until sunrise feels like the hardest task yet. She’s used to danger, killing and surviving; but nowadays she’s not as concerned with her own life as she is with those that surround her. Protecting those she loves comes with great cost, but it’s a fight she’s desperate to win.

Zombies- as if that wasn’t enough to ruin any girl’s dream of a happily ever after.

Reagan and Haley thought they had life figured out. Kill a few Zombies in the morning, scavenge for food, kill some more Zombies, find a place to take cover for the night. Life was simple and relatively routine. Well, until they met the Parker brothers.

Now, they’re road-tripping south together, in the hopes of escaping the Apocalypse riddled world they live in and finding some peace on the other side of the equator. Hendrix and Vaughan make some things easier with their ample supply of weapons and ability to scout out safe places and travel unharmed. But then some things are more difficult with two gorgeous, protective boys working hard to convince Reagan she needs them.

But who has time for feelings when there are scarier things to worry about? When they run into an outpost of militia, their futures might be decided for them. Now they don’t only have to dodge Zombies, but figure out a way to escape a settlement full of men intent on making the Parker brothers soldiers and Haley and Reagan join their brothel of women.

Survival at the end of the world is a costly thing, and Reagan can only take it one day at a time. With the Parker brothers and their precious sister Page now in the mix, survival is even more imperative and this day, more than any other, might be the most dangerous of them all.

 About my girl Rachel:

was born and raised in Nebraska, but spent my college years traveling the world. I fell in love with Eastern Europe, Paris, Indian Food and the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka. But I came back home to marry my high school sweetheart and now I spend my days raising our growing family. In those few spare moments I have, I am either reading or writing Young Adult Fiction, because I am obsessed with it.
Five other things I'm obsessed with right now:
1. My Kuerig Coffee Machine. Genius.
