Book Review: Helen Boswell's "Mythology: The Wicked"

Title: Mythology: The Wicked
Author: Helen Boswell

Blurb:

A demon with a pure heart, Micah Condie lives his life by a code of ethics, but breaking that code may be the only way for him to survive. A supernatural entity in her own right, Hope Gentry would do anything in her power to protect her loved ones, but she may be the one who puts them in peril.

When the Demon Impiorum challenges the laws that keep guardians and demons in balance, ancient enforcers of justice intervene. Micah, Hope, and their mentor Jonathan become entangled in a conspiracy that will test even the deepest love and trust.

Someone will commit an act of betrayal. Someone will forever abandon a loved one.

Someone will enter The Wicked.

My Review:

I truly LOVED "Mythology" but "The Wicked" blew me away beyond words.  The emotional growth Micah suffered was excruciating.  His limits were tested to their breaking point and he walked the line between "good" and "evil" more than once. There were times Micah didn't know if  he would be able to hold back the darkness that constantly threatened to  consume him.  What saved him? Hope, he knew she was his light, his goodness the best part of him, his future.  Micah isn't the carefree teenager he was in "Mythology", in "The Wicked", he's forced to acknowledge his demon roots and use his powers to save not only his life but all those he loves before it's too late.

No this book isn't all dark and depressing I promise!!! Micah and Hope's relationship grows and becomes much stronger as they deal with deep  issues relying on each other for support and understanding!! Keep an eye out for some steamy but appropriate make out scenes!! Helen brings some light hearted moments in with Micah and Hope's and Hope's attractive older brother!

From the first page to the last word, you'll find yourself completely enthralled with this book!  There was adventure, romance and twists I literally never saw coming ( watch out for the HUGE one at the end!)  Helen is a master of words, carefully weaving each character into the delicate fabric of a beautiful story that will become a part of your life and you'll want to visit often even after the story is over!!

Other Work:

Hope Gentry doesn’t believe in Fate. Born with an unusual power to see the dark memories of those around her, Hope just wants to be a normal teenager. But on the first day of her senior year of high school, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to a transfer student named Micah Condie. At first glance, Micah seems like a boy that most girls would dream about. But when Hope's powers allow her to discover Micah's darkest secret, she quickly becomes entangled in the lives of mythical entities she never dreamed existed. Was this her destiny all along? And will her powers help her survive the evil of the Demon Impiorum?

This is my FAVORITE pic!!!

About my girl Helen Boswell:

I think every kid is gifted in some way. For me, I was a complete bookworm, and I will always be thankful for my mother allowing me to read at the kitchen table during mealtimes. Reading naturally led to writing by the time I was eight or nine-I started with fantasy stories, dabbled with writing a bit of romance, and finally published my urban fantasy MYTHOLOGY in 2012. I’ve lived in several places throughout the U.S., including upstate New York (the setting of my novel), and steadily moved out west.  I currently live in Utah with my husband and two young sons and spend my time teaching, writing, and playing. I wouldn’t trade my life for anything.
