THIS is Mycah *Sigh*

AND this is Rydan *sigh*

Nari Woodlinn

My Review:

To read "Sweet Escape" is to step into a whimsical enchanting world interlaced with adventure, romance & heart stopping thrills. There was never a dull moment in this book, yet the pacing was perfect! Bailey picks up right where she left us in "Sweet Oblivion" Nari, Mycah *sigh* & Rydan *sigh again* are standing by the Willow Tree, stunned by Nari's ability to have healed Mycah.

These three step into an unfathomable realm of breathtaking beauty. From the cloud soft grass to the pink sunset with the striking black plumes of smoke to the sea air trapped in the castle wall, to the rancid smell of dying flesh. Bailey enwraps the reader in her world & you'll feel as if you're right there with the characters!

Rydan ventures off on his own journey to find his Fëa (the other half of his soul). His traveling companion is Naminé (the dream weaver) a slow fire ignites between these two that will leave you sighing, giggling & wanting more. While their love story was sweet yet sensual, it was all their own & nothing like Nari & Mycah's. Speaking of my favorite couple.......

Nari has been captured by the evil King Ohtar & he's forcing her to to heal all his fallen soldiers, feeling lost & alone Nari reaches her breaking point. Realizing that she's helping the enemy to slaughter her own people, Nari channels her anger & discovers she has some unique abilities. She becomes a bada$ warrior woman worthy of the envy of the most skilled fighters. I've always loved Nari but she really comes into her own in "Sweet Escape". She also finds family connections she thought were lost......(you'll have to read to see what I mean!)

Now Mycah, *sigh* if you follow me on Twitter, you'll know I was NOT at ALL pleased with him in this book! Let's just say if you love him ( & how can you not??) your heart will break a million times over in this book! He doesn't die or anything bc B knows I'd kill her *dirty look at Bailey* but let's just say he's not himself in this book. I can promise you it'll be worth it & Rydan & Naminé's sweet blossoming relationship is the elixir to the bitterness of Mycah's actions.

Please don't let what I said about Mycah deter you from this enchantingly vibrant book! "Sweet Escape" is a menagerie of magical creatures from the darkest of evil to the purest of heart & a magical journey that I will forever keep close to my heart & visit often!

Character Interview with: Nariella Woodlinn
To help avoid confusion, all of my questions & comments will be in pink. Nari's will be in blue, enjoy!

I'm sitting in a local coffee shop waiting on the sweet Nari Woodlinn from my dear friend Bailey Ardisone's amazing books Sweet Oblivion & just recently "Sweet Escape. I'm a bit nervous because I'm always gushing over her very dashing boyfriend Mycah Nightly *sigh* & I'm not sure how she feels about it.

As I'm thinking about this I see Nari enter the shop & make her way back toward me. I know B & Mycah have described how beautiful Nari is but to see her in person is totally different. I get up to give her a big hug. We sit down & I push Nari her hot chocolate with whip cream & strawberry pastry.

"Nari, thank you so much for meeting with me today!!"
"Hiii!" *gives you a hug* "No problem, thank YOU!"

"Now that you've had your sugar fix, should we begin?"
"Yep! I'm ready."

"You were very close to your foster mother, what's your fondest memory of her?"
"My foster mother Elizabeth was an amazing person, but I think my fondest memory was when she would take me to our favorite bakery for fresh pastries. She loved spending one-on-one time with me, and I really got to open up to her during those times." "She sounds like she was an amazing lady."
"How'd it make you feel when Mycah kept showing up to help you when you were in trouble?"
"I hate to admit it, but I was pretty scared of him haha At the time, I didn't understand there was a reason behind the feelings he was giving me, and why he was always around me, so it seemed kinda creepy. But now I know the truth about it all. ;)" "And it was all worth it." *smiles*

"When did you realize you were falling in love with Mycah?"
"I didn't realize it until I had a nightmare of him being killed right before me, along with other people I cared for. That's how I knew that I had real feelings for him. The scared little girl that Ray created inside of me wouldn't ever let those feelings in, because I was terrified of getting heart broken, but I do my best to rise above her. I know now that I no longer have to be afraid." "That was very scary just reading about it!" *shiver*

"For a while there Mycah & your bff Rydan truly hated each other."
"Looking back on it now, I don't think Mycah ever really hated Rydan. He just wasn't used to being disrespected so blatantly or attacked, and I think you can guess why. ;) He is used to being treated with upmost elegance. Rydan threw him through a loop, and even me through that same loop, because I had never seen Rydan act that way before. "I never thought of it that way, good point!"
"How'd you deal with the pressure?"
"I tried to stay true to mine and Rydan's friendship. I treated him the same way I always did. I wanted him to know that nothing between us would change. At the same time, Mycah was wiggling his way deeper in my heart, and there was nothing I could do about that. But Rydan will always be my best friend, and I will always think of him as a brother." "You're such an amazing friend!"

"Since you've been with Mycah, your life has become quite an adventure *giggle* what was the most terrifying moment &  why??"
"Oh, gosh. There are so many haha I really don't like the feeling of someone I care about dying, so I think any time that was about to happen, was the most terrifying thing I could ever go through, and to top all of those moments would have to be when I thought Mycah was dead."  *shivers and nods*

"The moment you stepped through the Weeping Willow Tree, your world was transformed into a magical enchanting place." "Please describe what it was like to be there."
"You basically called it - Magic. That's what it was like - Magic right in front of my eyes. The air was perfect, the grass and trees were greener, the sky was bluer, and I swear the sun was brighter, but it didn't feel hot. It was the perfect description for paradise! But at the same time, it was very scary to be there. Despite all the pretty things, it was dangerous, and I felt like I or someone I loved could die at any second." "Perfect and terrifying at the same time!

****SPOILERS*** if you haven't read Sweet Escape avert your eyes!!

"You've just reconnected with a family member & were told some extremely important about your heritage." "How do you think this information & your family will help you dethrone the current king?"
"I actually think it makes things worse, because if my existence is found out or my family ties are found out, it would mean treason for both parties. So, the information makes things more difficult." "That's very scary when you put it that way!"

"You recently discovered you have some pretty amazing um.....abilities, which helped you fight a huge battle." "How do you hope these will benefit you in the future?"
"Well, they will either make me or break me. I basically have a war going on inside of me, which makes me out of control. So, I definitely hope that I will learn how to harness them without losing my emotions/mental health in the process, and then they definitely can benefit me and those I love if I am able to do that." "WOW, just WOW"

My phone beeps, I look down & read the text from my hubs asking if I'm almost done because he's tired of playing "Barbie tea party" *sighing* I say "I guess our time is up, can I ask you two more quick questions?"
"Yes, ma'am! I'm all ears. ;)"

"Ok, when you & Mycah aren't running for your life what do y'all like to do for fun?"
"I'm not sure yet! haha It seems like we've never had a chance to experience that. But, in my dreams, I'd like to think we'd read together, or do a lot of traveling. I love games, and would make him teach me chess!" *sigh* "Sounds perfect!"

"Can you share the most romantic thing Mycah has done for you?"
"Does risking his life and the entire kingdom to save me count? *giggles* "YES!" "For sure!" :D haha He has done a lot of romantic things actually, even before I would admit my feelings to myself. We are forced apart right now, so I am hoping we can have more time together in the future." "I hope so too!" *wink*

"Nari, thank you so much for meeting with me today! I very much enjoyed talking to you & getting to know you better."
"Same here! Thank you so much for wanting to chat with me. It was really fun!" *throws arms around you and gives you a big hug*
