Blog Tour: Lila Felix's Love & Skate Series

Author: Lila Felix

Genre: YA romance

The sexy Black boys Owen, Falcon & Maddox Black *sigh*

The newest book in the Skate Series:

Maddox is running.
By accident, he discovered long ago that he was adopted as a baby and his need to find his biological father has consumed him ever since. Now, on a road trip, determined to find his father and his sanity, and armed with locations and his cousin, Nixon, to help him, maybe he can find the answers he’s been searching for. With nothing but a suitcase and a wad of cash to get him there, lead after lead takes him further from home.
But he’ll find much more than he intended.
He finds Storey, a pint sized pin-up model who has learned painful lessons about guys. Her wounds run deep, but so do his. She knows what she wants, but will she recognize it when it’s right in front of her?
Maddox can’t touch anyone without feeling like his skin is crawling, but just maybe his instinct to protect this amazing girl will supersede his own hang-ups.
If he can brush her skin and start to feel alive inside...everything will change

My review of Down N Derby:

When Lila's soft, sweet  voice told me she had just sent me Down N Derby to review, I think I blacked out for a minute. As y'all know ( or at least I hope you know) Down N Derby is the 3rd book in Lila's Skate Series. I was so enthralled with this book, I was constantly texting her my favorite quotes * hugs Lila* thanks for putting up with me!! Every time I read  one of these Skate Series books I thought, OK THIS one is my favorite.........until I got my hands in he next book!! I've come to the conclusion I'm deeply obsessed with Lila's Black Family!!! So let's talk about Maddox Black!! *sigh*

Maddox is determined to find his biological father and drags his cousin Nixon *sigh again* on a road trip across country to find him. This mission to find his birth father, leaves Maddox the usual "family clown" anxious & feeling guilty about leaving his family behind. On a trip to the beach, Maddox meets Storey, she becomes his anchor in the chaos that is now his life. Because of past relationship, Storey has her own demons. These two find an instant pull to one another and discover the more they hang out & trust each other, the more their hearts heal. Is Maddox & Storey's love strong enough to overcome their pasts hurts? You'll have to read to find out!!

 *sigh*

What I thought about Down N Derby:

I absolutely LOVED Down N Derby!!! Lila so easily weaves this beautiful story with equal amounts of love, wit & hope the reader can't help but fall in love with the book and its charming characters.  Even though Maddox is facing a life changing issue, he still manages to fall in love with the girl of his dreams and does whatever he can to prove to Storey she IS worth his love. This story will empower you to believe in the risks that come with true love.  I give this book 5 out of 5 cowgirl hats.

Love this boy *sigh*

Some of my favorite Down N Derby quotes:

"I don’t think I can stop now.  I’ve been a junkie since the first time I touched you.”  And it was true.  I was the junkie and she was my pusher.
 Maddox

"And when I was given permission to kiss the bride, I kissed her so that when we were old and gray she’d touch her wrinkled lips and remember this day.
She was my Poppy.  My sun on a Sunday morning.  My flower in a field of weeds.  My smile among sobs.  My hope among sorrow.  My saving grace."
Falcon

"I lost sight of us. Let me be your resting place.  Crawl into my soul and sleep until yours is healed. You’re mine to shelter.  You’re mine to protect and I’ve been slacking off." Falcon

"How I miss your hair curled around my fingers, the feel of your tiny hands on my stomach, the way mine mold to your hips, your lips that taste like vanilla.  Honey, I ache for you." Maddox

“I’ve been kissed.  I’ve been kissed a lot but it I’ve never kissed anyone.  I’ve never purposefully wanted to run my fingers through a girl’s hair, take her face in my hands and kiss her until

Book 1 in The love and Skate Series:

On the rink she’s tough, she’s a leader, she’s fast and she’s the epitome of a rebellious girl. But Nellie’s been hurt, only once, but it was enough to make her look at life through different eyes and off the rink she’s a timid girl who loves with no pretenses. A long time ago Owen Black was betrayed by the girl he thought he loved and the guy he called his best friend. The anguish set off a domino effect of negativity in his life and he never has fully recovered. He meets Nellie Forrester and thinks he can let it go for her. But how can you love someone when the wounds from your past are still wide open?

Book 2 in the Love & Skate Series:

Despite the odds, Reed Wolfe is making it, by the skin of her teeth. Her dreams and aspirations will have to wait until she can get on her feet. Because right now she’s homeless and churning on a downward spiral.  Falcon Black is existing. Not living, not thriving, just jutting along a path. When he finds Reed, he can’t resist the urge to help her, lighten her load. But Falcon tends to go overboard, over the line, crossing boundaries he never thought he would and risking her trust in the process.  Can she accept his love or will it end up smothering her?

How can Reed NOT dream about this man???

About my girl Lila Felix:

I am a stay at home mom from the South and wife to the most giving and hard working husband ever.  I love to cook and try out new recipes even if they don't always turn out like I want them to.  I refer to my kids lovingly as the Three Stooges as they are constantly coming up with new ways to reek havoc in the house.  Most recently that included putting a rubberband on the kitchen sink sprayer so it would douse me when I did the dishes.  I love to go to roller derby bouts and read in my spare time.  I write mostly at night when the house is silent and I can sneak cookies without having to share
